Un May Source 3 Lakh T Wheat From India

A high-level team from United Nations would be coming to India on November 23 to discuss the modalities for sourcing three lakh tonnes of wheat for relief aid to war-affected people in Afghanistan, DS Bains, managing director of Punjab State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation (Markfed) said.
He said that in October, Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal had requested Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to offer wheat from Punjab for Afghanistan relief work. The plea was renewed in early November.
