Wheat dara, maize rise on stockists buying support

Firm conditions prevailed on the wholesale grains market today, as wheat dara and other prices rose up to Rs 20 per quintal on fresh buying activity.

Traders said pick up in buying by flour mills to meet the marriage season demand mainly led to a rise in wheat dara prices.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) recovered by Rs 5 to Rs 1,320-1,325 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded high by the same margin to Rs 1,325-1,330 per 90 kg.

Maize and barley (UP) were also seen in demand and gained Rs 20 each to Rs 1,020-1,030 and Rs 1,250-1,270 per quintal.

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 9,500, Shri Lal Mahal 9,300, Super basmati rice 9,000, Basmati common 5,600-5,700, rice Pusa-(1121) 4,250-5,050, Permal raw 1,800-1,850, Permal wand 1,950-2,100, Sela 2,100-2,155 and Rice IR-8 1,670-1,695

Bajra 820-830, Jowar yellow 880-980, white 1,800-1,850, Maize 1,020-1,030, Barley (UP) 1,250-1,270 and Rajasthan 1,080-1,090
