Wheat declines on increased arrivals

Press Trust of India New Delhi

In restricted trade, wheat prices fell up to Rs 25 per quintal in an otherwise wholesale grains market today on adequate stocks following rising arrival of new crop.

Elsewhere, other grains traded in a narrow range on selective enquiries and settled around previous levels.

Traders said easy availability of stocks due to new crop arrival amid reduced offtake mainly pulled down wheat prices.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) declined by Rs 5 to Rs 1,195-1,200 and wheat deshi by Rs 25 to Rs 1,650-1,800 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and shed Rs 5 to Rs 1,185-1,190 per 90 kg.
