At least twelve people have died and four others were injured when a bus carrying 16 passengers collided head on with a truck here on Sunday.
The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Superintendent of Police, Pradeep Gupta, said around 16 passengers were traveling in the bus and they were about to attend a religious event.
"The incident took place under Kundra police station area this morning around 7.30. A bus carrying passengers was going to Amla. It had a head on collision with a truck. As of now, casualty of twelve people has been reported. Most of them are women. The dead bodies have arrived here. We are sending them to morgue. Police are here and are working at hospital. We want the injured to receive treatment. We are initiating the legal procedures," said Gupta.
He added the police had also initiated the legal procedures.
