Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee and Chief of the Air Staff, Indian Air Force, will undertake a day-long visit to the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Koraput, Odisha, on December 6.
HAL Koraput division is one of the premier divisions of HAL and deals mainly with Russian origin aero-engines. Presently, HAL Koraput carries out Repair and Overhaul ()ROH) of MiG and Sukhoi aircraft engines.
A technical seminar is planned to be held on December 6 and 7 at HAL Koraput. This will be attended by G C Pati, Chief Secretary of Odisha, R K Tyagi, Chairman HAL, D R Tamilmani, Director General (Aero), S Subramaniam, MDM, HAL and other officials of HAL.
Air Chief Marshal Raha will deliver the opening address at the seminar.
During the seminar discussion on various topics like requirements of advanced gas turbine engine for combat aircraft, developments in fourth and fifth generation aero-engines, advanced magnesium alloys for aero-engine applications, etc are planned.
