Al Qaeda has reportedly asked its affiliate in Syria, Al Nusra, to not use the country to launch attacks on the West, the group's leader said.
The BBC quoted Abu Mohammed al-Julani, as saying that the terror group's Syrian front was focused on capturing Damascus and toppling the President Bashar al Assad regime.
The statement came as a rebel alliance, which includes Al Nusra, has been advancing in north-western Syria, capturing the city of Idlib.
