Cadres of the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland - Khaplang faction (NSCN-K) have attacked the army camp at Laju in the Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh, which borders Myanmar.

According to reports, the army was alerted of the attack by intelligence inputs and when the militants struck on Saturday, they were repelled with force. Around 60-70 empty cartridges of AK 47 bullets and two Naphod bombs were recovered from the spot.

This incident comes after an attack on army personnel on June 4 in Manipur, which resulted in the death of 18 soldiers, will a further 11 injured.

India has reportedly launched a massive operation to track down the militants responsible and have sought Myanmar's help. Security personnel have also commenced a massive combing operation in the area, though the militants are suspected to have fled into Myanmar.
