Boy miraculously survives after being impaled by 2ft long iron bar

A 10-year-old boy has survived after he fell from a tree and landed on the metal spike which pierced his left side and came out close to his right ear.

Weverton Silva was impaled by a 2ft (60cm) iron bar in Rio de Janeiro state, Sky News reported.

Doctor Rodrigo Chicralla told Brazil's Globo TV that it was a miracle that the youngster lived.
