Tourists from across the world flocked the annual Pushkar fair in Rajasthan on Saturday.

The week-long fair, which began on Friday, displayed several arts and crafts stalls that attracted scores of tourists.

People enjoyed folk dances and performance by caparisoned camels. People took camel rides and participated in events like cattle exhibitions, camel show along with other games.

A local resident, Ashok Pank said the festival is organised by Department of Tourism every year and gives a fillip to the industry.

"Caparisoned camels participate in various fairs to keep up the tradition and this is a way to boost tourism. This culture is spread to build image of our state Rajasthan worldwide," said Pank.

The Pushkar town was transformed into fair ground with rows of makeshift tents selling mouth-savouring delicacies.

"I think it is a great game and I had really good fun. We do not know the rules very well so we saw the Indians playing and then we understood the tactics," said a foreign tourist.
