The Blind Car Rally for visually-impaired citizens began with much gusto in Nagpur on Sunday.
At the rally, though the vehicle was driven by regular drivers, they were being guided on directions by visually-impaired citizens using a navigator in Braille.
Around 100 visually impaired navigators were selected to drive across pre- selected city circuit.
"It started two years back. We get immense happiness while participating in it because we ourselves cannot drive the car but experience the car driving through others support. We read out the route map in brail script and they drive in that direction," said a participant, Mahadev.
The event, which is a flagship initiative of Nagpur Round Table 83, aims at making society aware of the challenges faced by visually impaired people.
