Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Dr. Jitendra Singh said on Monday that he was hoping for better sense to prevail within the rank and file of the Congress Party so that at least they would come forward to end the logjam in Parliament.

"I hope better sense prevails. All that I can say is that even pertaining to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), we have two important bills coming up, listed for consideration and discussion in the Rajya Sabha today, namely the Prevention of Corruption Amendment Act and also the Whistleblower Act. Both of these bills are the ones which the Congress Party has been very keen about and has been insisting that they should be pushed and passed through without delay," Singh told media here.

"I hope they would at least come forward to help us to get these bills through, which actually have been an important priority to them," he added.

Almost half of the current Monsoon Session of Parliament has been non-functional due to disruptions by the opposition. The latter has been demanding resignations of Sushma Swaraj, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan over the Lalit Modi controversy and Vyapam scam respectively.
