World number one Novak Djokovic trounced his Canadian opponent Milos Raonic in straight sets to cruise into the semifinal round of the Australian Open in Melbourne.
The seven-time grand slam champion advanced to the round of last four with a 7-6 (7-5) 6-4 6-2 victory over eighth seeded Raonic.
Moreover, defending champion Stanislas Wawrinka swept past fifth seed Kei Nishikori with a 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(8-6) victory to reach the semi-finals.
In light of his performance, Djokovic said that he took a lot of confidence, adding that he try to carry that in every next match, next challenge and was going to play Stanislas, who was the defending champion there, the BBC reported.
Djokovic will next meet defending champion Stanislas Wawrinka for the third year running in Melbourne.
