English officials to 'purely' oversee 'anticipated' India-Pak fixture at Champions Trophy

The anticipated India vs Pakistan fixture of the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, to take place at Edgbaston on June 15, is set to be purely overseen by English match officials, according to the International Cricketing Council (ICC).
A list released by the ICC has seen former England wicket-keeper Ian Gould and Richard Kettleborough appointed as the on-field umpires with Nigel Llong monitoring the TV replays for the Group 'B' clash between the two arch-rivals, The Dawn reports.
The report further said that former England opening batsman and father of current Test paceman Stuart Broad, Chris Broad, has been listed as the match referee while former Sri Lankan off-spinner Kumar Dharmasena has been named as the fourth (reserve) umpire.
Llong along with Australian Steve Davis have also been nominated to officiate in Pakistan's group match against the West Indies on June 7 with New Zealand's Tony Hill acting as the TV umpire, Broad as the match referee and Kettleborough the fourth umpire.
The report further said that former Indian paceman Javagal Srinath has been named as the match referee for the June 10 tie at Edgbaston, adding that the ICC's announcement is confined to match of the group stage as well as the warm-up stage of the event which runs from June 6 to 23.
Meanwhile, Pakistan's two-warm games will be against Sri Lanka will be supervised by umpires on ICC elite and international panels as well as local English officials, the report added.
