The Ministry of Finance is planning to organise a top level banker's retreat 'Gyan Sangam', aimed at preparing a blueprint for the reformation of the action plan for the banking sector.
The retreat, which is scheduled to be held on January 2-3, 2015 in Pune, will seek to create a platform for formal and informal discussions around the issues which are important for banking sector reforms. Further, the programme aims to achieve a broad consensus on what has gone wrong and what should be done both by banks as well as by the Government to improve and consolidate the position of Public Sector Banks (PSBs).
At the retreat, the participants will also be exposed to out of box ideas from prominent experts in the field as also from the top level managers attending the retreat.
Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to attend the concluding session of the second day's programme. Among the other dignitaries present will be Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha, RBI Governor Dr. Raghuram Rajan, Finance Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and Department of Financial Services (DFS) Secretary Dr. Hasmukh Adhia.

The outline of the reform action plan will also be presented to the Prime Minister.
