German Chancellor to arrive on three-day visit to India today (Update)

German Chancellor Angela Merkel will pay a three-day visit to India beginning today during which she would co-chair the third Indo-German Inter-governmental consultations with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A ceremonial reception would be held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here tomorrow in honour of the German Chancellor. She would later lay a wreath at Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi's memorial at the Rajghat here.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj would call on the visiting dignitary prior to her meeting with Prime Minister Modi. The MoUs between both sides will be exchanged at the Hyderabad House here.

Merkel would call on President Pranab Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Monday evening.

 

She would depart for Bengaluru, Karnataka, at 6 pm on Monday. Merkel would visit the Robert Bosch Engineering and Innovation Centre in Bengaluru on Tuesday. She would also attend a business forum organised by NASSCOM and Frauenhofer Institute, Bengaluru.

A high-ranking delegation of several senior ministers and business leaders will be accompanying the German Chancellor to India.
