Heavy rain alert issued in Himachal Pradesh
The India Meteorological Development (IMD) issued a heavy rain alert for Bilaspur, Shimla, Mandi, Kangra and Sirmaur districts of Himachal Pradesh on Friday.
The local weather centre at Shimla reported that almost all parts of the state will receive rain for the next three days.
A heavy rain warning has been issued for Monday and Sunday.
The director of IMD, Himachal Pradesh, Dr. K.J. Ramesh, stated that during past 24 hours Kangra, Shimla and Mandi district will receive heavy rain.
The IMD has appealed people to be cautious as chances of landslides remain high and visibility conditions will be low.
