Whitney Houston's biopic, directed by actress Angela Bassett, has been slammed by her family.
Sister-in-law Pat Houston took it to the late singer's website to say that fans should brace themselves for the worst before watching the movie, titled 'Whitney,' as Lifetime is notorious for making bad biopics of deceased celebrities, the BBC reported.
She added that fans should not be surprised about the made-for-TV movie, which was made without the family's blessing and despite her mother's request to not do this movie.
Houston further wrote referring to the channel's recent controversial films about singer Aaliyah, actress Brittany Murphy and the stars of 'Saved by the Bell' that it happens every day.
Houston's statement further accused Bassett, who starred alongside Houston in 'Waiting to Exhale,' for misrepresenting the term friendship to advance an agenda, which is not only disrespectful and dishonest but a slap in the face to her true and loyal friends.
