How James Bond's million-dollar-submarine car went for just $100

A contractor from Long Island paid less than 100 dollars to buy the contents of a storage container, not knowing that it held James Bond's famous submarine car.

Next day, when he and his brother opened up the container, they found a white sports car that had no wheels and a dented roof, NBC News reported.

The owner did not realise that it was the famous James Bond submarine car from 'The Spy Who Loved Me,' as he had never seen a 007 movie.

36 years after Lotus Esprit made its debut on big screen, it is headed back to the auction block and the owner, who bought it for less than 100 dollars, is expected to pocket more than 1 million dollars.

The auction is to be held in London on September 9.
