In U.P., DIG suspended for slapping street vendor

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police D.K. Chaudhary was on Wednesday suspended for allegedly slapping an elderly street vendor here.

The order was issued by Director General of Police (DGP) S. Javeed Ahmad, a day after the video of Chaudhary slapping the vendor went viral.

DIG Chowdhury, was on a regular patrol in the Uttar Pradesh capital when he got embroiled into a verbal argument with an elderly vendor. The incident took place in Bhoothnath Market near Indira Nagar.
