ANI New Delhi

Ahead of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh's visit to Islamabad to attend a SAARC meeting on August 4, the Ministry of External Affairs today said India is ready to discuss all issues with Pakistan in an atmosphere free of terror and violence.

"We want a peaceful cooperative relation with Pakistan. We are prepared to discuss all outstanding issues with Pakistan, but in an atmosphere free of terror and violence. It's incumbent upon Pakistan to create the right conditions for that political dialogue to take place," MEA official spokesperson Vikas Swarup told the media here.

He asserted that the issue of firing across the Line of Control or across the International Boundary is also important to India.

"Similarly, the issues of fishermen straying into each other's waters and getting caught are important issues to us. Humanitarian issues will always be important to us. In fact, they are important to both countries. Any mechanism institution which promotes cooperation on humanitarian issues must be pursued," he added.
