Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday reiterated his stand that India will remain relatively untouched by the current global turmoil.

"The Indian economy will be a less-affected economy, because our own fundamentals are reasonably strong, and also, it's an opportunity for us being an importer of oil commodities, which are the most affected market globally to build upon that situation," Jaitley told reporters here after a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and key business leaders.

Jaitley further said that policy makers at the meeting suggested concentrating on the agricultural sector, which will impact the performance of other sectors, as also the increased expenditure on irrigation and emphasis on food processing.

"Under these circumstances India would be one of the lesser impacted economies the world over," he added.

Tuesday's meeting was also attended by cabinet ministers, policy makers and key bankers.
