Indian hockey team praised for securing historic Asian Games Gold

Former sports minister MS Gill and former coach of the Women Kabbadi team Sunil Dabas were among those who applauded the Indian hockey team's performance at the 2014 Asian Games
"I am delighted and I congratulate our team, men and women because we won six Golds, we won silver and bronze. It's been a good performance. A considerable part of the credit for this goes to the sports people. I hope they get more support from the government," Gill told ANI here.
Dabas added, "We are doing very well in team games, we have no dearth of talent in India. I request the PM to clean the filth in Indian sports system too."
Giving the entire credit for the win to the sports persons, former Asian Marathon champion Sunita Godara said, "Despite sports politics and lack of support, sports persons are still winning gold, and I would give them all the credit for it. If players get better facilities, then they can simply focus on their practice."
The Indian men's hockey team created a history of sorts after they defeated Pakistan 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out to clinch the Gold medal in the hockey finals of the Asian Games 2014.
