Iran will reportedly extend the deadline for a finalized nuclear deal beyond June 30 if there arises a need to satisfy the lines drawn by the nation's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said a senior Iranian official.

According to Fox News, Iran Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that Iran will work hard to reach the agreement within the specified time period of three months but if the deal does not meet the leader's demands then the deadline would be extended. ran has maintained throughout the years that its nuclear activities are peaceful, despite accusations from world powers.

Araqchi raised the potential for an extension in response to Khamenei's speech, who has the final say in most of the country's decisions.

Khamenei demands that all sanctions be removed as soon as the deal is finalized. However, the U.S. insists that sanctions are gradually removed.
