George Clooney's father, Nicholas Clooney, has confirmed that his son is engaged to his lawyer girlfriend Amal Alamuddin.
Nicholas told the New York Daily News that he's thrilled with the news and thinks that the 36-year-old UK barrister, who was also an advisor to U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan, is a wonderful girl.
It will be a great marriage, he added.
Law firm Doughty Street Chambers also confirmed the news, saying that they offered their "best wishes and congratulations" to the 52-year-old actor and Alamuddin, who's an attorney at the firm.
