Jaitley, Javadekar, Gehlot appointed BJP poll chiefs for Gujarat, Karnataka, HP

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on Thursday appointed Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar and Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot as election in-charges for Gujarat and Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh respectively.

The Karnataka poll is scheduled to take place next year, while assembly polls in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat are scheduled to take place in December.

The BJP statement said Jaitley will be assisted by Nirmala Sitharaman, Jitender Singh, N. Tomar and P P Chaudhary.
