A century by Mahela Jayawardene and a half-century by Tillakaratne Dilshan saw Sri Lanka post a modest 242 runs, with eight of the other batsmen failing to score past 10 runs in the third one-day international (ODI) against India.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, the visitors lost two wickets early, with Kusal Perera and Kumar Sangakkara falling with only seven runs on the board, before Jayawardene (118) and Dilshan (53) steadied the innings.
However, after Dilshan lost his wicket, Sri Lanka lost its way, losing batsmen at regular intervals. Seekkuge Prasanna (29) gave Jayawardene some support in the middle, before the latter fell in the 45th over.
Among India's bowlers, Umesh Yadav and Akshar Patel registered their best-ever bowling figures, with the former picking up four wickets for 53 runs, while the latter picked up three wickets for the loss of 38 runs.
