Tamil Nadu Governor K. Rosaiah, has taken oath of office as the new governor of Karnataka.
Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court Justice D H Waghela on Sunday administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new governor. Karnataka Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah was also present at the inauguration.
Rosaiah has been given additional charge after H R Bhardwaj relinquished his office on Saturday following the end of his tenure.
BJP led NDA government at the Centre had recently demanded resignation of governors of several states appointed by previous government led by Congress-led UPA drawing mixed responses.
BJP had said that the governors who were being asked to quit were either facing court cases or were inefficient.
