Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday offered his condolences to the family and well-wishers of Kerala Assembly Speaker G. Karthikeyan on his demise,and said that he will be remembered as a grassroots leader.
"My condolences to the family and well-wishers of Kerala Assembly Speaker, Shri G.Karthikeyan on his demise. May his soul rest in peace," Prime Minister's Office (PMO) tweeted.
"Shri G.Karthikeyan will be remembered as a grassroots leader who dedicated his life to serving the people of Kerala," it added.
Karthikeyan, who was undergoing treatment for liver cancer, passed away at the Health Care Global (HCG) hospital in Bengaluru earlier in the day. He was 66 years old.
