WBC champion Vitali Klitschko has vacated his world heavyweight title for concentrating on Ukrainian politics and his role as an opposition leader.
The World Boxing Council (WBC) proclaimed Klitschko a "Champion Emeritus," on Monday.
However, the 42-year old said that he could not imagine at all something like that happening as things stand now in his country, Stuff.co.nz reports.
Protestors have demonstrated for weeks in the capital city Kiev to objecting to President Viktor Yanukovych's decision to shun closer ties with the European Union (EU).
