Wayne Rogers, who was known for his character of 'Trapper John McIntyre' in the hit series 'M.A.S.H.,' has passed away.

The 82-year-old actor's publicist and long-time friend Rona Menashe said that he was surrounded by his family when he died on January 1 in Los Angeles due to complications from pneumonia, reports News.com.au.

An Alabama native and Princeton graduate, Rogers had parts on many short-lived shows before 'M.A.S.H.', specialising in westerns such as 'Law of the Plainsman' and 'Stagecoach West.'
