The auspicious festival of Ningol Chakkouba was recently celebrated with pomp and gaiety in Manipur.
On the occasion, a grand feast is prepared in the honor of the daughter at her mother's house and they are presented gifts by the parents and brothers.
During the festival sister give blessing to their brothers for well being and prosperity in life.
As a part of the festival, a fish Fair-cum-Fish Crop Competition was also organized by the fishery department at Mapal Kangjeibung in Imphal.
Around 90 fish stalls were put up in the fair.
The main objective of the fair was to provide a platform for the farmers not only to showcase their production but also to earn profit from their hard work.
Later, farmers who produce the highest quantity of fish in the state were awarded.
