Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi and debutant Zulfiqar Babar has helped their side seal a two-wicket victory over West Indies in the first Twenty20 international on Saturday with their individual heroics.
According to The Dawn, Afridi scored 46 from just 27 deliveries, including launching his 400th six in all international cricket, while Babar took three key wickets then struck a six off the final ball of the match in the style of Pakistani legend Javed Miandad.
The report further said that Babar dismissed Marlon Samuels (25), Lendl Simmons (6) and Dwayne Bravo (25) to finish with three for 23 from his four overs in West Indies' 152 for seven at Arnos Vale Ground in St Vincent.
Expressing his happiness over the win, Pakistani T20 captain Mohammad Hafeez praised Afridi and Babar, saying that he is satisfied with the contributions of Babar, Afridi and the other players.
Hafeez further said that he was happy to see the desire to win from his men's performances, adding that they had to be positive during the match as it was a tough chase.
