Prison authorities at the Nagpur Central Jail recovered 26 mobile phones from the inmates during a search operation.
Nagpur's Deputy Commissioner of Police Ishu Sindhu said that an FIR has been registered in the matter and investigations are underway.
"26 mobile phones have been found by the jail authorities. Our investigation has started. An FIR has been registered and investigation is underway. Conclusions can be drawn only after the investigation. Two SIMs have been found and investigation for the same will be done," she said
Security at the Nagpur Central Jail had been beefed up after five under trial criminals had escaped from the prison on Tuesday.
