Morgan says loss against Oz no WC setback

England new skipper Eoin Morgan believes that the recent three-wicket loss to Australia in the first match of the ongoing triangular series in Australia is in no way a setback in the team's World Cup preparations.

Though Morgan steadied the ship after England suffered early blows as they were 69-5 at one time of the match, David Warner's staggering ton steered Australia to grab the top spot in the tri-series.

Morgan said that one loss for them didn't set them back over the next two months, adding that they had to learn from it and move on, the BBC reported.

The left-hander batsman further said that losing those early wickets set us back a long way, adding that he was delighted with the way he performed, the report added.

With the recent loss to Australia, England suffered their 18th defeat in 25 one-dayers against Test-playing nations.

England will open their World Cup campaign against Australia on February 14 in Melbourne.
