After the Wimbledon champion's title defence came to a stunning end against Grigor Dimitrov on Wednesday, Andy Murray has admitted that he needs to make significant improvement to his game.

Murray, who lost 6-1, 7-6 (7/4), 6-2 to the inspired Bulgarian, has failed to reach a single final since beating Novak Djokovic to become the first British man to win Wimbledon for 77 years.

According to Sport24, Murray's run of five successive Wimbledon semi-finals and 17 consecutive wins at the All England Club snapped after he lost to Dimitrov and the 27-year-old conceded that it is time to take a closer look at his game in a bid to avoid a repeat.

Murray said that he has lost a couple of matches in the last few slams where he lost in straight sets and played poorly.

He added that that has happened a few times over the last year and is disappointing and frustrating.

Murray said that he needs to have a think about things, what are the things he needs to improve and get himself in better shape and work even harder.
