Nadal outmuscles Wawrinka to reach Shanghai Masters semis

Eighth-seed Rafael Nadal blazed past his Swiss opponent Stanislas Wawrinka in straight sets to advance to the semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters on Friday.

The Spaniard brushed Wawrinka aside 6-2, 6-1 in a quarterfinal contest that lasted for about an hour.

The 29-year-old, who dropped to eighth in the rankings following a slump in form, will next lock horns with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga for final-berth.
