US President Barack Obama has sent his congratulations to Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their baby.
The 51-year-old politician said in a statement that he and his wife Michelle are pleased to congratulate the royal couple on the joyous occasion of the birth of their first child, the Guardian reported.
He further said that the First Couple wish William and Kate all the happiness and blessings parenthood brings.
Obama said that the child has entered the world at a time of promise and opportunity for both the two nations.
He added that given the special relationship between the two countries, the citizens of the US are pleased to join with the people of the UK in celebrating the young prince's arrival.
