Chinese workers have one of the world's lowest levels of employee engagement rate at just 6 percent, a Gallup survey revealed.
The report "State of the Global Workplace: Employee Engagement Insights for Business Leaders Worldwide" showed about 68 percent of Chinese employees aren't engaged in their jobs, while 26 percent are actively disengaged and likely to disrupt their colleagues' efforts, the China Daily reports.
Gallup said that engaged workers work with passion and feel connected to their company, while disengaged employees are sleepwalking throughout their workday and busy acting out their unhappiness.
However, senior research director for Gallup China, Wu Tao, believes that it's not a problem, instead an opportunity.
