Punjab Congress Committee president Pratap Singh Bajwa on Saturday claimed that the state government got panicky after his party 'gheraoed' the Orbit company's headquarters in Bathinda and Mohali.

"When Congress decided to gherao headquarters of Orbit buses in Bathinda and Mohali, the government got panicky," said Bajwa.

He demanded action against Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code.

"Sukhbir Badal should be booked under Section 304. Supreme Court says that not only employees but employer of the company would be held responsible if people's security is concerned," he added.

"Have appealed to courts that they must take this matter up suo moto and book Sukhbir Singh and Directors (of Orbit buses)," he further said.

Under sharp criticism over the Moga molestation case, the Punjab Government today jumped into action and ordered all Orbit buses off the roads with immediate effect.

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal, who issued the order, asked the company to send its bus operating staff on orientation course.

He said no bus belonging to the company should be back on the road until the orientation course is completed.
