Pakistan has deferred the decision to grant Non-Discriminatory Market Access (NDMA) status to India due to Lok Sabha elections.
The move comes in order to avoid favouring any Indian political party ahead of Lok Sabha polls, Federal Minister for Commerce Engr. Khurram Dastagir has said.
Dastagir, however, insisted that the programme had been deferred not shelved, the Express Tribune reports.
According to the report, Dastagir, talking to the media in Peshawar after addressing a meeting of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI), said that they have decided to defer granting NDMA status to India due to elections in India because Pakistan did not want to favour a single political party.
