PM Modi pays tribute to former PM Morarji Desai

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid tribute to former prime minister Morarji Desai on his 120th birth anniversary.

"Morarjibhai Desai was a stalwart known for his integrity, discipline & administrative skills. Tributes to him on his birth anniversary," the Prime Minister tweeted.

Born on 29th February, 1896 Morarji Desai participated in the freedom movement. He served as the fourth prime minister of India.

He also served as deputy prime minister, union home minister, union finance minister and chief minister of Bombay State. He died at the age of 99 on 10th April, 1995.
