President gives away Padma Awards to distinguished recipients (Update/Padma Awards)

President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday conferred the Padma Awards on 56 prominent personalities at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhawan.

The awardees included one Padma Vibhushan, eleven Padma Bhushan and forty-four Padma Shri.

Renowned yoga practitioner B.K.S. Iyengar was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan.

Padma Bhushan recipients included tennis star Leander Paes and renowned author Ruskin Bond.

Cricketer Anjum Chopra, Actor Paresh Rawal and Delhi University Vice Chancellor Professor Dinesh Singh were some of the recipients of the Padma Shri award.
