Authorities have ordered a probe after a question paper of state civil services (PCS) preliminary examination of Uttar Pradesh was allegedly leaked on Sunday on WhatsApp messenger before the exam began.
The PCS preliminary examination was being held across the state.
Thousands of candidates who came to know about the leak after arriving at the exam centre expressed their anger and disappointment.
"Today, I came to sit for the exam of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission 2015 from Rae Bareli. But after coming here, we came to know that the paper has been leaked. We are very angry. We want the chief minister to take action in this case. The chairman of this commission Anil Kumar Yadav should be immediately removed. We came after a lot of preparation and hard work. Now we will not be able to sit for the exam. We are all very disappointed," said a candidate Amit Kumar.
Director General of police (DGP) AK Jain said the leaked paper matched with the original paper of PCS preliminary.

"The STF team is working on the case. The paper was leaked through WhatsApp before it started. We are trying to arrest the accused, our teams are investigating. The accused will be held soon and face action," Jain said.
He added that the police have got some leads already.
Meanwhile, leader of India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Vijay Bahadur Pathak slammed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for the incident.
"The way media has highlighted the issue is good. The incident has raised a question on the credibility of those who conduct it. The chairman of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission Anil Yadav must immediately be removed from his post and the entire commission must face CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) probe for its repeated inappropriate practices in holding exams," said Pathak.
He added that the commission has been resorting to corrupt practices since Yadav assumed office.
