The Ministry of Railway has implemented 39 railway budget announcements in just 36 days of the current financial year displaying unprecedented pace of implementation.
A release by the Railway Ministry stated that Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu directed the Railway Board to put in place a sound mechanism to implement the budgetary announcements in a time bound manner.
The release further stated that Prabhu and Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha have personally been monitoring the implementation of budget announcements. The monitoring and periodical reviews are also being undertaken at the Railway Board level, Zonal Railway level and Railway Division level.
