Rs 96,000 worth fake notes recovered from Mumbai

The Investigation Agency (NIA) has recovered fake notes with a face value of Rs. 96,000 in on Friday.

The fake was seized from the possession of two persons, namely and Fahad Naushad Chandiwala, residing at Vijay Bhavan Chawl and Gupta Chawl, respectively.

A total of 48 fake notes of Rs. 2,000 denomination were recovered by the NIA, which was investigating the matter after a tip-off of a possible fake deal in the area.

The case has been registered under Sections 489D and 489C of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
