Samsung has been reportedly slapped a fine by Taiwan's Faire Trade Commission for organizing an internet campaign in which the South Korean mobile manufacturer criticized mobile phones of rival HTC Corp. while praising its own smartphones.
Samsung has been fined 3, 40,000 dollars for undermining the reputation of HTC Corp.
According to Fox News, the FTC has also leveled smaller fines on two Taiwanese trading companies which were responsible for mounting the Internet campaign.
The report said that earlier this year Samsung was fined NT 300,000 dollars by FTC for misleading advertising about the camera functions on its Galaxy Y Duos GT-S6102 phone.
