Saradha scam: Kunal Ghosh granted interim bail

Suspended Trinamool Congress (TMC) lawmaker Kunal Ghosh, an accused in the Saradha chit-fund scam, was on Wednesday granted interim bail against a bail bond of Rs. two lakh by the Kolkata High Court.

Ghosh earlier in October last year went on an indefinite hunger strike in a Kolkata jail alleging unfair probe against him by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The CBI had interrogated the suspended TMC leader earlier in December last year.

Ghosh was arrested on November 23, 2013, and sent to custody by the CBI on September 4, 2014, after it took over the investigation on the orders of the Supreme Court.
