The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed a petition seeking to restrain ousted Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) president N. Srinivasan from becoming the next ICC president.

The petition, filed by Cricket Association of Bihar (CAB), had sought a restraint on Srinivasan from contesting the ICC presidential elections.

On March 28, the apex court had removed Srinivasan as the BCCI President and had placed Former Indian Captain Sunil Gavaskar as the interim head of the cricketing body and will manage activities related to IPL only.

The court had allowed Sundar Raman to continue as the Chief Operating Officer of the IPL, as the seventh season had already begun.
