Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, and in anticipation of the event, security has been tightened and put on a maximum alert.

Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel have erected checking points at every entry and exit point in the city.

Police and paramilitary personnel have also started patrolling and conducting spot checks of incoming and outgoing vehicles and other transport in north Kashmir's Baramulla District.

This is resulting in unavoidable heavy traffic jams.

Sharing his problems Bashir Ahmad, a businessman, told ANI: "For the past three days, security has been tightened so much that it's creating trouble for us. There is lot of checking everywhere due to which people are facing difficulty in commuting. They prefer to stay indoors. People are angry. The politicians don't understand the needs of the people.

Modi's visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Friday comes amidst a raging controversy over a proposal to withdraw Article 370 of the Constitution which gives special status to the state.
