Kulsoom Nawaz, the wife of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, has been diagnosed with throat cancer, a report has claimed.
Quoting sources, the Express News reported that Kulsoom was diagnosed with the disease in London last week.
Doctors, however, said the type of cancer Kulsoom is suffering from is treatable, saying she will undergo treatment soon.
Kulsoom might not contest elections in NA-120 constituency, the seat vacated by Nawaz Sharif on the orders of the Supreme Court.
Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) insiders said Sharif's daughter Maryam Nawaz will lead the campaign, adding that Kulsoom may also join the drive in the last week prior to the polls.
